Two Great Once in a Lifetime Experiences

Paraglide into the Six Senses Hideaway, Oman
The hotels all around Dubai can be dazzling and elegant and opulent but they all offer pretty much an identical experience on arrival, which is a five meter sprint from you climate controlled limousine into the cool air-con entrance lobby, across expensive marble paving. That maybe efficient but it is not exciting. Which is just one good reason for visiting the Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay. It is in an enclave of Oman that’s closer to Dubai than it is to the remainder of Oman, a rocky finger jutting antagonistically towards Iran out over the straits of Hormuz. Surounded by arid, steep, mountains, the luxury resort’s own alternative method for your arrival is strapping you to a para-glider (andinstructor) at the top of the mountain, and leaving you to sail all the way down to your resort on the bay. Magical.

Ride the Autobahns in Germany
If you want to really feel speed behind the wheel then it is time to put pedal to the metal and leave it there as you drive around Germany’s derestricted autobahns. Look out of the window as all the world blurs and the engine roars for miles and miles on end, without the fear of the police on your shoulder. Remember though that at 160mph a curve in the road will become a seriously treacherous corner. You can take your own car there or for a real experience why not hire a Mercedes or Porsche for the day from Munich airport and then head out onto the straight and usually quiet autobahn highways.
